technological evolution

week 8, video task

In this week's post I want to introduce readers to some interesting facts about history of digital media and how it has evolved.

First of all, it is a rather interesting claim about the growth of media literacy. The history of media literacy is closely related to the history of media technology. With every new invention created, it comes with controversies and worries (CrashCourse, 2018). According to a video by WatchMedia (2019), within the last 100 years, the world has been around the world. great and powerful strides have been made. The world entered the era of technology and digital. A good example is when, in the past, it was extremely difficult and expensive to convey a message. But in this day and age, any message can spread to all parts of the world with high speed. degree of dizziness.

There are some interesting points when the worlds first mass media is the newspaper.

I find the term "yellow characters" quite interesting. According to CrashCourse, yellow journalism uses bold, scary or misleading headlines; Fake interviews and exaggerated stories. Or in short, they are the people who create stories instead of looking for real stories. In relation to today we have a similar term "fake news". In fact, they have one thing in common that is causing confusion and fear about an issue that is not real.

Along with such development there are both advantages and disadvantages. According to CrashCourse, the cheaper the means of conveying the message, the more people can read and learn. But this also creates a huge problem as the government can easily control the source of information. A pretty big problem right now is that information on the internet is becoming uncontrollable and moral panic. It can be many issues related to violence, religion, sex, racism. This makes messages conveyed on media channels dangerous and threatening to young children. Children are objects that are easily influenced and affected by evil things and improper behavior. But along with it, it also has advantages, communication channels like facebook. It helps people come closer together, people can interact with each other all over the world. And most of all, in our own small family, Facebook has become a means for us to convey our feelings to those around us.

According to the World Economic Forum, Covid 19 has pushed us to make everything convenient and automatic. The professions will become the future in the new era into the not too distant future. There will be new professions born and there will be replaced by Robots and AI. And digital media is one of the industries of the future.

In summary, I want to share about the history of digital media and interesting information about its development.
