 week 5, project task


Hello everyone, today my blog will talk about my group exercise. And my group's theme this time is "Culture Wars and Moral Panics". For my group, this topic was quite strange and quite challenging, but when I went deep to search for information and look it up, I realized it was extremely interesting.

First. Culture wars are typically fought over issues such as abortion, homosexuality, pornography, and drug use; however, the phrase has also been used to discuss multiculturalism, diversity, and school curricula. Religious commitments, symbols, and groups have been inextricably linked to culture war politics (Cengage).

And Moral panic appears to strike societies. Moral panic is a condition in which there is concern about the behavior of a specific group or category that is a threat to societal values ​​and interests (Cohen 1973).

My team is quite interested in Culture Wars and Moral Panics in the games that are extremely popular and loved by many people these days. The issue has always caused a lot of controversies in the community of gamers as well as among parents. I am quite concerned about this because I am a lover and spend a lot of time with games.

I recommend to my team Moral panic in GTA V, a game that is extremely popular and played by almost all young people today on different platforms. It's a pretty controversial game as Gand Theft Auto has a long history of inciting moral panic.

In the game, the player can loot, torture, steal cars, and kill people, as well as interact with prostitutes and strippers. The latest version, GTA V, has been upgraded for the next-gen consoles Xbox One and PS4, and now has a first-person mode. This means that all of the aforementioned crimes and evils are even more immersive with more realistic graphics (Olivia Solon,2014).

I take responsibility for the video editing as well as the sound of the group and I will combine the ideas of the whole group to create a complete group song.

 week 6, project task  Right now we still do not feel that the team working on is not effective. Because our group has not yet found a leader to lead the group, it is still quite difficult to divide.
